I got back from Mardi Gras in New Orleans this week. Check out my pics from Facebook.

I thought the place was going to be wall to wall boobs, like a high end strip club, except instead of dollar bills you trade beads. Unfortunately it was more like channel surfing cable tv after dark, you see something that kinda looks like a boob once every 10 minutes. I would have paid money to not see 90% of the flashes.

The food sucks in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Almost everything is either Cajun spiced or deep fried. I think the only thing I got to eat that wasn't extremely unhealthy was blackened red fish. The Beignets at Cafe Du Monde that everyone talks about are large flat zeppoles and their coffee, while good, is not better than Starbucks.

The local hand rolled cigars are very dry. I even bought them from the store that had the rollers on site.

I think the best thing I did in New Orleans was go to Coyote Ugly, they charge a little extra for the drinks, but it's worth it to see the barmaids dance on the bar. Found out there's one in NYC too.

Top 3 most interesting thing that happened during the trip

1. During a swamp tour, a decent looking chick from Amsterdam took an interest in me, but unfortunately she had a scab on the corner of her upper lip which I assumed was herpes. I spend the next 4 hours playing keep away, because herpes are like diamonds, forever!

2. I crossed the street in the middle of a parade holding hands with 4 girls (college freshmen?) daisy chained with me in the lead. I was also with my Thai friend and someone shouted "It's Harold and Kumar!". When I got across everyone was handing me beads, I felt like a hero.

3. My friend got punched in the head at the nightclub in Harrah's for dancing with some dudes girl.

Tuesday as 17-year-old Shaun Dykes prepared to jump from the top of a multi-storey carpark in Derby, northern England, spectators allegedly shouted to him: "How far can you bounce?," the U.K.'s MailOnline reported.

As Dykes hesitated for three hours on the ledge while police unsuccessfully tried to reason him out of taking his life, teenagers who had gathered below shouted "Jump" and "Get on with it," according to police and witnesses.

Then after Dykes lay in a crumpled heap on the pavement the same hecklers rushed out from behind the police cordon to take photos of the body.

"When he (Dykes) fell, lots of people were screaming and crying but there were several groups of youths who ran from behind the cordon and looked like they were taking pictures with their mobile phones," a local shopkeeper was quoted as telling the MailOnline.

"I found that sickening -- why would anyone want to take pictures of something like that?"

Dykes was believed to have been suffering from depression and struggling to overcome a relationship breakdown.

Superintendent Andy Hough, of Derbyshire police, said he was disappointed and disturbed by the people heard encouraging Dykes to jump.

"I find it a disturbing and shocking reflection on society when people feel inclined to do that," Supt Hough told the MailOnline.

SARAJEVO (Reuters) - The ethnically divided Bosnian city of Mostar has agreed to erect a new symbol of unity -- a statue of kung fu legend Bruce Lee, worshipped by Muslims, Serbs and Croats.

A group of enthusiasts came up with the idea of honoring the childhood hero of the city's ethnic groups in 2003, on the 30th anniversary of his death. They launched the project, found donors and waited a year for the city's approval.

"We plan to erect the statue in November in the center of the city," Veselin Gatalo, a member of the Urban Movement organization, told Reuters by telephone Monday.

"This will be a monument to universal justice that Mostar needs more than any other city I know."

He said Mostar, scene of fighting between Muslims and Croats in 1993-1994, needed a symbol of justice, mastery and honesty -- virtues upheld by the late Chinese-American actor.

Born in San Francisco, Lee starred in several kung fu movies, including 1973's "Enter the Dragon." He died at the age of 32 from swelling on the brain.

A German organization agreed last year to sponsor the project with a 5,000 euro grant.

The statue, cast in bronze and showing the martial arts master in a typical fighting pose, will be designed by a local sculptor and put up in central Mostar.

Lee's widow Linda will be invited to attend the ceremony.

For years, reconciliation in post-war Mostar was slower than anywhere else in Bosnia. But the reconstruction of the city's Old Bridge last year has helped reunite Muslim and Croat communities separated by the river.

Johannesburg: The hunt is on for three women who ambushed a 30-year-old man and forced him to have sex with them at gunpoint.

According to police spokeswoman Paula Nothnagel, a case of indecent assault had been opened and identity kits would be released soon. The man cannot be named because of the nature of the offence.

Nothnagel said that on Saturday night the man was walking through Roodepoort when the women pulled up next to him in their maroon BMW.

They asked him for directions to the Savoy Hotel and he got into the car to show them the way.

At the hotel the women persuaded him to join them for a drink, before asking him for directions to yet another hotel.

While on the road to the Station Hotel the women suddenly changed direction and drove to a dark and empty field near the Durban Deep mine.

"One woman produced a firearm and held the man at gunpoint," Nothnagel said.

"The women got undressed and all three took turns to have intercourse with him."

The man was then ordered back into the car and dropped off along Main Reef Road.

Nothnagel said the man then went home before opening a case at the local police station. The West Rand Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is investigating. They suspect the women were all aged between 20 and 30.

LINDALE - Board by board, shingle by shingle, for nearly three months, they dismantled the three-bedroom brick house and carted it away until only a pile of rubble was left.

Their only problem: they didn't own it.

Authorities say two men jailed this week took the house apart and sold it for drugs, in plain view of everyone cruising by on Lindale's Main Street - U.S. Highway 69.

"We drove by and watched the house come down," said Smith County Constable Dennis Taylor. "We wondered why it was taking so long, rather than just bulldoze it. It took about a month before the top even collapsed."

Taylor said the men worked slowly and haphazardly in daylight, with no one questioning their work, because everyone assumed it was the work of Wal-Mart or Lowe's - the two large retail stores laying new foundations nearby.

But the home actually belonged to Dallas-based St. Ives Realty. A company representative called Taylor on March 15 to report her house stolen.

"I said, 'Is it a trailer house, ma'am?'" Taylor recalled. "She said, 'No, it's a brick house.' I said, 'What?'"

Brandon Ray Parmer, 29, and Darrell Patrick Maxfield, 44, both of Tyler, were arrested Monday. Taylor said both men confessed to dismantling the home.

Authorities also arrested Jesse Gino Vega on Tuesday after executing a search warrant at his home in the 14600 block of County Road 463 in Lindale.

Vega, 36, is accused of giving cash and methamphetamine to the other two men in exchange for the materials from the home. Taylor said Vega refused to surrender to deputies for about an hour before finally emerging from his house Tuesday.

All three suspects were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, a second-degree felony, and released from Smith County Jail after posting $10,000 bond.

At Vega's residence, authorities recovered lumber worth about $25,000. They also found plumbing, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, fence materials, doors and windows.

Officers got "about five trailer loads of property that came out of that house," Taylor said, then paused. "Well, it didn't come out of the house. It was the house."

Taylor estimated about 90 percent of the house was found at Vega's residence. The brick and shingles are still unaccounted for.

Taylor worked in conjunction with Constable Dale Geddie and deputy constables Cliff Robison, Tommy Goodman and Mark Waters. They are still working on tips, and believe at least three other people are involved in stealing the house.

"It's the strangest case I've ever worked in my life," Taylor said. "Everybody drove by and waved at them, said, 'Great to see you getting that house off - we're fixing to get Lowe's and Wal-Mart in here.'"
